He grew up at 9 Omara Road in the Kingston 10 area. His education started as early as age three (3) where he attended Teacher Williams Basic, where he then moved on to Maxfield Park Primary at age six (6), then Melrose All Age. At age 12 he was placed at Tivoli Gardens Comprehensive High and then transferred to Kingston Technical High school where he studied to become an Electrical Technician while being introduced to the musical fields.
His love for music made him started to pursue a career as a selector on his brother’s sound system called King of Beauty. He then moved on to other sounds like Love Bird Disco, Soul Horizon, Survival Faith, Tropics International, and Burning Flames. He then started to cover popular songs for artists such as Dennis Brown, Barrington Levy, Cocoa Tea, and his favorite artiste Sanchez who inspired him to start using his vocal talents while doing his daytime job as an Electrician at Jamaica Printing Service.
While working there he met Clive Francis who introduced him to Alric Depass the producer of Akshon House recording, where he recorded his first single Labelled “My Goal” in 1996. Other music followed such as Rough Old Life, Are You Ready, Days Are Coming. While clubbing on weekends at Godfathers and Bleachers night club he won his first Award. Bobby Tee has founded Tuff Iron Recording & Production House Label His objective is to bring back good melodious reggae music to the industry.
However, his love for playing music and entertaining people enabled him to start his broadcasting career at Suncity Radio in 2009 where he played Lovers Rock, Reggae, and Dancehall during the daytime. He then branched off doing solo sessions by playing for weddings and Parties. While doing so, in In 2014 he was introduced to a radio station called Tribe Star Radio where he has been streaming live from Kingston, Jamaica to the world three (3) times a week from then to the present.
D’Venyce Started streaming with Big Movie Star and Jay Dub using DSL from 1998 on the website JamaicaPromote.com. Big Movie Star started Jamaica Promote to highlight new artistes. D’Venyce, Jay Dub and Big Movie Star learned that Streaming possibilities did not have to be limited to just artiste, but could be used for Sound Systems, Radio Stations and Individuals who wanted to talk to the world. Jamaicpromote.com was the stream behind a few Florida radio stations and Dancehallreggae.coms Foundation corner with Drew HIM and MC after they left Down sound.
In 2004 D’Venyce moved his Saturday streaming show to Fridays and called it Hennessey Fridays. Around this Movie Star, Jay Dub and D’Venyce started playing around with video streaming. It would be a couple years before they were able to fully utilize video streaming because of the cost to stream video.
